A fight between a husband and wife turned violent early Saturday morning when the husband reportedly shot his wife after a fight about cheating on her.
On Saturday, police were called to a home near SW 54th Street because the woman said her husband had shot her in the back.
When the police arrived, they saw the husband standing outside the house with a gun. He was arrested, and Deigo De Los Santos was found to be his name.
Later, she was found hunched over on the ground crying and screaming while someone held her back. The police said they could see blood on the ground next to her.
Someone who was inside the house told cops that they heard yelling from outside.
The victim is said to have hit Santos with pepper spray after finding out that he had made another woman pregnant.
In reaction, Santos is said to have gone inside to get something and then came out chasing the victim. He is said to have shot her five times.
A police report says that they found a black Ruger LCP.380ACP semiautomatic gun, three empty.380ACP cartridge cases in the front yard, and a live round on the front porch.
The pepper spray was found near the front door inside the house. EMS took the victim to OU Medical Center because she had been shot in the lower back.
