Waiting for your Social Security payment? 3 groups of retirees will not receive on Nov. 27

You might be getting Social Security, but you might not get your regular payment on November 27. It is possible that you already got your check or direct payment on November 1, 13, or 20.

Do not worry about it; payments should be made on time. If you are supposed to get paid on November 27, call your bank if you do not get it after that date.

It may take a little longer for some banks to send funds, but if it is been more than three mailing days, you should contact SSA.

People who are retired will start getting funds on December 3, which are due after November 27. People who get Supplemental Security Income will start getting it on November 29, 2024.

December 3, the first Social Security payment date for eligible retirees

Two very different groups of people will get a check or deposit on the third of next month. To get money on that date, you can do any of the following:

  • Whether you got Social Security before May 1997 or
  • in case you get both Social Security and Supplemental Security Income

*SSI will be sent on December 1, and Social Security will be sent on December 3.

There will be three more payments for qualified retirees after the ones on December 3. On December 11, 18, and 24, they will be sent out. Of course, you have to give your birth date.

Social Security amounts after Nov. 27 and details about the last payday

The last time the Agency reported on average payments for retired workers was in November, and the amount was for October. Next month, checks should be a little higher on average.

That is true, as shown by the COLA fact sheet, which says that the average amount before the raise will be around $1,927. The largest payment that can be made in December is $4,873.

In December, retirees will not get their last payment on a Wednesday. This is because December 25 is a federal holiday, so checks will not be sent out that day. Instead, they will be sent out on December 24.
