Family of a woman who died in an accident want justice. They spoke out after months of waiting for the case to move forward.
Todd Washington, 35, was killed in the crash on April 13. Her family and friends called her “Tee Tee.” His niece Tasharra Henry said, “I think he took away someone in this world who was a shining light.”
Police in Oklahoma City say Dyvonte Spradling, who is 31 years old, was going the wrong way on Interstate 35 near Northeast 10th Street. Investigators say Spradling was drunk when he hit Washington’s car head-on.
The impact threw her car over a concrete wall and down the bridge 100 feet, killing her.
Henry told them, “I want justice.” “I want him to get the time he deserves and have to deal with the results of his bad decisions.”
Families and friends remember the mother of four as a kind and friendly person. Franklin said, “She loved her family and God and was very funny and silly.”
The holidays are coming up, which makes the pain of her death even worse.
Henry said, “She would have cooked Thanksgiving and planned our Christmas get-together.” “Things are going to get even worse as time goes on because of big events and her not being here.”
The family is also upset that Washington missed her birthday and would have been a grandmother now.
He added, “Her daughter just had a baby on Saturday, so I know she would have been so happy.” “But we wish she were here to see all of this.”
Washington’s friend, who was in the car with them when it crashed, should bounce back fully.
Spradling was caught on Friday and is now being charged with second-degree murder and DUI cause bodily harm.
