Oklahoma beat East Texas A&M 84–56 on Thursday night in Norman, Oklahoma. Jeremiah Fears scored 20 points to help Oklahoma pull away late in the game.

Oklahoma’s Duke Miles scored 19 points and made 3 of 6 three-point shots. Glenn Taylor Jr. scored 16 points as well.

East Texas A&M’s TJ Thomas, Scooter Williams Jr., and Josh Taylor all got nine points. Oklahoma (4-0) won with a 24-6 run in the second half. With 7:09 left, Fears made a layup to give the Sooners a 62–50 lead and start the run.

Jake Moser’s three-pointer with 41 seconds left finished the run. Several times in the first half, Oklahoma looked like they were about to pull away. The Sooners went on a 9-0 run while the Lions were down 13–11 and used their full-court press to stop them.

Oklahoma led 20–13 after East Texas A&M (1–5) failed to score for more than three minutes. With 7:14 left in the first half, Williams made a jump shot and two free throws to cut the Sooners’ lead to 20–17.

With 2:04 left in the half, Miles made a three-pointer that made Oklahoma’s lead 37–29. When Williams made a bucket in response, the Lions were only 37-31 behind.

East Texas A&M got an offensive board after a missed free throw, and Taylor made a layup to cut Oklahoma’s lead to 37-33. This made Oklahoma coach Porter Moser call a timeout. In the first half, the Sooners were ahead 38–33.

During the first half, they only made 20% of their shots from three-point range. Oklahoma lost the ball on its first possession of the second half and Demarco Bethea got an offensive rebound and put it back in. Bethea scored five points in the game.

And then Oklahoma went on an 8-0 run with a layup from Sam Godwin (four points, nine boards) and three-pointers from Jalon Moore (nine points) and Fears. Oklahoma now led 46–36.
