Storms hit several counties in Oklahoma on November 3 and 4 of this year. People who lost food can now apply for new Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, which are also known as “food stamps.”
People in Muskogee, Cleveland, Garvin, Lincoln, McClain, Oklahoma, Stephens, Adair, and Logan counties who lost SNAP-bought food because of storms or long power outages may be able to get some of their benefits back, up to the amount of their monthly allotment.
You can get SNAP benefits again if you lose food. To do this, fill out the “Request for Destroyed Food Replacement” form. Before December 2, 2024, clients should fill out this form and send it online to Oklahoma Human Services.
If you get SNAP and need help filling out the form, you can go to the Oklahoma Human Services office near you or call (405) 522-5050. Go to DHS Office Locations to find the Oklahoma Human Services office that is closest to you.
People who have lost their SNAP card can buy a new one at connectebt.com or through the Connect EBT app, by calling 1-888-328-6551 for Conduent or (405) 522-5050 for Oklahoma Human Services, or by going to one of the Oklahoma Human Services County Offices in person.
New SNAP Applications: People who need help with food can now apply for SNAP at OKDHSLive.org from any computer or phone.
If you lose your Oklahoma Human Services debit card, you can get a new one by calling 1-888-401-9843 for a non-Child Support Mastercard or 1-888-929-2460 for a Child Support Mastercard.
This number is for people who get other state benefits on a “Oklahoma Mastercard,” such as foster care reimbursements, adoption help, or Child Support.
People whose homes were wrecked and who can’t get mail can ask for a replacement card to be sent to a different address.
Deb Smith, Deputy Director of Oklahoma Human Services, said, “We are committed to helping Oklahomans recover and giving them help and hope when they need us the most.” To get help if you or your family are impacted, please do so.
Oklahoma Human Services is here to help families through this tough time, and they want those who are touched to act quickly.
