Police say that two kids were taken to the hospital Thursday night in southwest Oklahoma City after being hit by different cars.
When police were called to the area of Southwest 44th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue at 9:40 p.m., they found a person who had been hurt in a crash.
When the police arrived, they found that there were two cars and two people on foot involved.
Two people, aged 8 and 13, were trying to cross Pennsylvania Avenue when the 13-year-old boy was hit by a Chevrolet pickup truck going north. Soon after, a southbound Ford Focus hit the 8-year-old boy.
Police say the driver of the Chevrolet drove away while the driver of the Focus stayed. The Chevy was found nearby and taken away.
Both people were taken to a hospital nearby. Police say the 8-year-old boy was taken to the hospital in critical condition and the 13-year-old boy was reported as being in stable condition.
The police did not say if anyone was caught in connection with what happened.
