The German woman, who was 31 years old, was struck and killed by an SUV that had run off the road while she was standing at an intersection in Orange County on Monday evening, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
At around 6:35 p.m., a tragic collision took place on Universal Boulevard close to Breakview Drive, which is located to the north of State Road 528.
The Florida Highway Patrol reported that a 37-year-old man from Fort Lauderdale was driving a 2025 Mazda CX-50 south on Universal Boulevard when the SUV went off the road, collided with a tree, and then hit a woman before crashing into multiple traffic signal support posts.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol crash report, the woman was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where she was subsequently pronounced deceased.
According to troopers, the driver, who was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, had critical injuries and was transported to ORMC.
An inquiry is now being conducted.
