During a brief pursuit that culminated in a collision in the southwest part of Oklahoma City on Monday afternoon, a suspect was taken into custody, according to the police.
It was confirmed by the Oklahoma City Police Department that the suspect was operating a car that had been stolen, and the pursuit came to a halt close to Southwest 72nd Street and Western Avenue.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports that a law enforcement officer made an effort to conduct a traffic stop close to Interstate 240 (around Walker Avenue).
The OHP reports that the suspect ran away, and they then carried out a strategic move in order to bring the vehicle to a stop. According to the OHP, the suspect did manage to collide with another car prior to the incident, however there were no casualties reported.
Emergency medical services were present at the scene of the crash to examine the suspect, according to the police.
Under the influence of alcohol or drugs, the suspect is accused of driving.
