Their fight, originally set for December 12 at Caribe Royale Orlando in Orlando, FL, has been moved to December 13. This fight is the co-main event on the MVP 10 fight show. At super featherweight, the fight is set to go for four rounds.
At first, Walton from Atlanta, Georgia, and Hanley from Oceanside, New York, were set to fight in September at the same place. The fight did not happen because Walton was taken off the card for being “medically unfit.”
Walton’s last fight was in March, and it was a majority draw with Joshua Torres (1-0-1, 1 KO). Hanley (1-1, 1 KOs) got his winning streak back in February when he knocked out Luis Andres Martinez in the third round.
“I am so grateful for the support of my team and fans as I got back to full health and training this past month.
I am also thankful for the chance to fight again on Friday, December 13, even though we had to change the date of the fight,” Javon Walton said. “I worked hard, and now I am ready to show the world just how much better Want to Walton is.”
“I want to thank Erik Hanley, MVP, and my team for sticking to our fight agreement and making this fight happen.”
Antonio Vargas (18-1, 10 KOs) of Houston, Texas fights Winston Guerrero (22-0, 13 KOs) of Nicaragua for the vacant WBA bantamweight title in the main event of MVP 10.
Huge fights are also on the schedule. Gurgen Hovhannisyan (6-0, 6 KOs) of Armenia fights Patrick Mailata (6-2, 3 KOs) of Samoa by way of New Zealand.
