Sanford police say suspects with a ‘pink and silver handgun’ used in carjacking have been arrested

Two people were arrested after a theft and carjacking at an apartment complex on the southwest side of Sanford late Sunday night.

Police in Sanford were told by a woman at the apartment complex what one of the victims had said: “They had on masks, she said like, they robbed her, they put guns to her when they had masks on.”

“Where did he go?” Police asked, “Which way did he go?”

The woman said she was in a borrowed car when it was broken into and she was robbed.

The judge said, “I find probable cause for robbery and carjacking with a gun.”

Albert Maillard, 32, and Yasmin McIntyre, 23, are both charged with the same things.

Maillard told the victim to put down her phone and give him her money, the victim said.

The woman told Maillard that she did not have any money, so Maillard pushed her harder and pointed a gun at her head.

The woman said that she hit the car when she saw it after it had been stolen, and McIntyre tried to run her over.

In the report, the woman said that McIntyre was “pointing a pink and silver handgun at her.”

Police were told that someone at the apartment complex saw someone hide something in the trees.

An AR-style rifle was found during a search, and body-worn camera video showed the gun.

The video also shows that McIntyre and Maillard were both arrested early Monday morning. Each denied robbing or stealing a car.

McIntyre finally admitted that she did point a gun to end a long-running argument. She said the gun was not a real gun and that she threw it into Lake Monroe.

According to the story, the suspects are seeing each other. The victim says she has known McIntyre since they were teenagers.
