On Monday, free tattoos will be offered for veterans by a Daytona Beach tattoo shop, stating that “Tattoos are therapy”

For Veterans Day on Monday, the tattoo shop Studio 21 Tattoo in Daytona Beach will give away free tattoos to people who have served in the US military.

Robert Howard opened the shop in 2018 after moving from Indiana to Florida. He is the owner and an artist.

Howard used to be in the Army and did so from 1985 to 1991. He was in the Air Defense Artillery (ADA) branch of the US Army. The ADA is a combat arms branch that watches out for and protects against air and missile attacks.

Howard said, “It was one of the best times of my life.”

Howard said he knows what it is like to serve because he has done it before.

“Sometimes it is just about somebody listening to you,” he stated. “I learned that tattoos help veterans deal with stress.” That is the only time they do not think about anything else.

With their time and low prices, Howard and his team have helped many soldiers over the years. On Veterans Day, the shop wanted to do something extra, so they gave away free tattoos for 30 minutes.

“We want to show them how much we appreciate them and their service to our country” .

From 12 p.m. to about 6 p.m., the event will be first-come, first-served.

Veterans should bring their own creation, but there will also be flash art to choose from.
