A guy who is riding a horse and buggy across the United States stopped in Hannibal, Missouri, on Thursday. Since 2006, Lee from Montana has taken his horse Jessie on trips all over the country.
He goes to schools, nursing homes, and other places where he can get in. Lee has cancer in the fourth stage and is having one last round.
Someone told him that he does it because it makes everyone smile at nursing homes.
“Some of them are great, but I wouldn’t send my worst enemy to some of them.” “I try to go to those people just as much as the good ones, and all I do is try to make them smile. It’s not much, but it’s what I can do,” Lee said.
Lee stopped today in Hull, Illinois, as well. He wants to go all the way to Boston.
As long as he is six feet under, he says the trip is over. He will keep going until then.
