Louisiana’s hurt volleyball player came back out one last time to serve the game-winning point for the Cajuns.
Senior Siena DeCambra tore her ACL earlier in the year while playing volleyball for Louisiana. On Senior Night, she came back even though she was hurt and served an ace that helped her team beat Georgia Southern.
In the film below, you can feel the excitement as DeCambra walks up to the backline with a brace on her hurt leg and throws the ball into the air. The next thing that happened will stay with her and her friends forever.
She not only served an ace, but the hurt player on her last night as a Cajun sealed the win in Lafayette.
I was so happy for Siena when the ball hit the ground that her friends ran over to celebrate with her. It was probably the best night of her “sports life.”
We love sports because they give us times like these that we can’t get back. This volleyball team for the Cajuns had a lot of events that went like a movie story. A player who got hurt on her last night comes back and wins the game.
