Incredible in every way. Contrary to the law. The reckless. To be avoided.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office used these phrases on Friday to characterize a driver who they say was clocked traveling at 108 miles per hour in a zone that was designated for 45 miles per hour by the police.
Rock Springs Road in Apopka was the location where the incident took place.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) posted on X, “Thank goodness, our Motor Unit was there to stop this reckless behavior before it led to tragedy.”
The sheriff’s office did not disclose any other information regarding the incident, such as the time it occurred or whether or not the driver was taken into custody.
However, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office used it as a cautionary tale to drivers, stating, “Speeding is not only illegal; it is dangerous.” Take it easy. Drive in a responsible manner.”
In its entirety, the post stated:
On Rock Springs Road in Apopka, a road with a stated speed limit of only 45 miles per hour, a vehicle was caught by the police traveling at an astounding 108 miles per hour.
To our great relief, our Motor Unit was present to put a stop to this reckless activity before it resulted in a deadly accident.
Speeding is not only against the law, but it also poses a risk. Take it easy. The complete post indicated that drivers should be responsible.
