A fragment of lens was discovered by law enforcement authorities close to the location of the collision, as stated in the court documents. With the use of the lens, they were able to locate a serial number, which allowed them to determine that the truck in question was a 1992 Ford F-150.

According to the investigators, Trejo confirmed that she had hit something in the road, and when she went back to see what it was, she discovered that it was a person.

As stated in the statement of probable cause, Trejo reportedly informed the detectives that she “got scared and left.” There is a cash-only bond of $2,000 that she is being held on.
