The USDA has set limits on disaster-related costs and income that can be claimed. South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida, and Georgia are some of the other states that have recently become eligible for D-SNAP.
People who live in affected parts of Virginia will be able to get in-person D-SNAP help after applying until November 22, 2024.

After that, this D-SNAP money could be used to buy food at shops that are approved by the government. There is a waiver in place that lets certain people buy hot meals that are ready to eat or hot meals to go in certain shops or restaurants.
Waivers have also been given for the ten-day reporting deadline for Food Stamps-bought food that you lost because of power failures. Remember that you will not have to pay for hot foods until December 10, 2024. Use this money right away and do not miss out on it.
