The reopening of Eastbound I-40 was necessitated by a multi-vehicle crash that caused traffic near Midwest City.

After a crash involving several cars Thursday morning, the eastbound lanes of Interstate 40 near Midwest City are now open again.

A crash on I-40 near Midwest Boulevard was seen by Sky 5, the only news chopper that is in the air during the weekday mornings. The crash involved at least three cars.

For a short time, the crash blocked both lanes of eastbound I-40, but cars were able to get by on the side before emergency workers got there. Later, the cars were moved to the shoulder, which made both lanes of the interstate accessible.

At least two of the cars had to be taken away with a wrecker.

Sky 5 did not see an ambulance arrive at the spot, so they do not know if anyone was hurt.
