Security for the EDC Festival in Orlando is being ramped up amid public safety concerns

This weekend, the Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) is getting ready to bring its lively sounds and sights to Orlando. At the same time, the city is also stepping up security.

At 1 p.m. today at Tinker Field, the famous electronic dance music event will start in full swing.

WFTV says that over 300,000 people are expected to attend over the course of the weekend. In the middle of all the fun, city officials are getting ready to hold a big event and take a close look at how to keep everyone safe in downtown.

Because of the recent tragedy in which two people were killed and eight others were hurt in a shooting after Halloween celebrations, the city of Orlando is not taking any risks.

The Orlando Police Department is planning a number of operations to keep people safe. Commissioner Shan Rose said, “We are putting protocols in place to make sure bad people are not here, and we will continue to keep the city safe.”

As part of its promise to take all the necessary safety measures, the city is thinking about bringing back safety checks that were put on hold because of Florida’s law on permitless carry, as reported by My News 13.

Last week, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer declared a state of emergency and put in place a curfew. This shows that the safety of both residents and tourists is very important to the city.

Art, fireworks, music, and fairground rides will light up Orlando, but police are still keeping a close eye on things behind the scenes. People are coming from all over the world to take part in the celebrations.

Over 140 acts will be performing on five stages at EDC Orlando, making it an event and experience.

But the recent rise in security worries and the excitement about the holiday season mean that police will be everywhere this weekend, quietly watching and making sure everyone is safe so that revelers can lose themselves in the music of the night.
