Santa’s Market is coming to Goodfellow Air Force Base on Saturday. Organizers say this is the only time of the year that people can see the installation and buy handmade goods from artists.

Oh, ho, ho, yes! You can take pictures with Santa from 1 to 3 p.m. The happy old elf will arrive on a fire truck in style.

The 42nd Santa’s Market Craft Fair and Community Appreciation Day at Goodfellow AFB will take place at the Louis F. Garland Fire Academy High Bay on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

According to records from the Standard-Times, the market began at the base in the 1980s as a public event. Over the years, the event has grown into a fun tradition for the people of San Angelo.

The public will be able to take scheduled bus trips of Goodfellow Base, and squadrons will put on shows.

You can find directions at gogoodfellow.com. Knives, guns, and other weapons of any kind are not allowed. Drugs and their accessories, glass, alcohol, and drones are also not allowed. People who come can expect their bags to be searched.

Also, even if you have a legal license to carry a concealed weapon, you can not bring it into the base with you.
