George Pherai-Bogeajis, 35 years old, was sentenced to a prison term of 19 years and seven months by United States District Judge Paul G.
Byron for his position in a drug distribution network that was significantly involved in the trade of methamphetamine and fentanyl. This sentence was handed down as part of a large crackdown on drug trafficking in Orlando.
As described by the U.S. Attorney’s Office Pherai-Bogeajis entered a guilty plea on June 18, confessing his participation in a conspiracy to distribute controlled narcotics and possession of guns in support of his illegal operations. The punishment represents the culmination of this plea.
The allegations that are contained in the court records shed light on Pherai-Bogeajis’s involvement in narcotics transactions at the kilogram level over the course of several years.
In March 2024, law enforcement agents interrogated a co-conspirator immediately after leaving Pherai-Bogeajis’s apartment.
They discovered that the individual was carrying $149,785 that was suspected to be proceeds from drug sales. This was one of the instances that led to Pherai-Bogeajis’s arrest.
Additionally, on April 9, a search conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) at the residence of Pherai-Bogeajis uncovered a substantial hoard of illegal substances.
These substances included 48.9 kilograms of methamphetamine, over 5,500 grams of MDMA, more than 2 kilograms of cocaine, 978 grams of fentanyl, marijuana, oxycodone pills, and four firearms.
In addition to these discoveries, a further search conducted in Ocoee uncovered additional drugs as well as two vehicles that were fitted with concealed compartments that were utilized for the transportation of cash and drugs. A total of $717,480 worth of cash was taken from the suspect.
A number of law enforcement agencies, including the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Criminal Investigation, Homeland Security Investigations, the United States Customs and Border Patrol, the Ocoee Police Department, the Orlando Police Department, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, and the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, participated in the investigation into Pherai-Bogeajis’s activities.
Assistant United States Attorney Dana E. Hill was in charge of the prosecution of the case. She made certain that in addition to the jail sentence, the court ordered the confiscation of four vehicles and four firearms that were used in the offense, as well as the forfeiture of $867,265 in narcotics revenues related to the offense.
