One person was killed in a fatal crash in Orange County, while another was critically injured

A tragic crash in Orange County has claimed the life of a 22-year-old man and left another in critical condition.

The incident occurred on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at approximately 1:23 PM near the intersection of Pine Hills Road and Dolores Drive, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).

The crash involved a 2014 Infiniti Q50 sedan traveling southbound on Pine Hills Road. FHP reports that the driver, a 22-year-old male from Orlando, was speeding and lost control of the vehicle.

The sedan veered off the road and collided with a concrete pole on the west shoulder of Pine Hills Road.

The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, where he was later pronounced dead. His next of kin has been notified.

The passenger, also a 22-year-old male from Orlando, sustained critical injuries and was rushed to the hospital.

FHP has not yet released information regarding the notification of his next of kin. It was noted that the passenger was also not wearing a seatbelt.

The crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the exact cause of the incident.
