Northbound lanes on U.S. 17-92 are blocked by a fatal crash in Seminole County

On Wednesday morning at around 8:49 a.m., a sad accident took place on U.S. 17-92 at Lakewood Circle in Maitland, Seminole County. Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) are currently present at the scene of the accident.

A pedestrian, described as a 77-year-old male from Orlando, was engaged in the accident while a 2024 Kia Sportage, driven by a woman from Orlando who was 32 years old, was involved in the collision.

According to the preliminary reports, the driver of the Kia Sportage did not sustain any injuries and remained at the scene of the accident after the automobile collision.

Following his arrival at Advent Health in Altamonte Springs, where he was subsequently pronounced dead, the pedestrian was transferred to the hospital.

As the Florida Highway Patrol conducts an investigation into the accidents that led to the collision, the northbound lanes of U.S. 17-92 between Spartan Drive and Lakewood Circle continue to be shut.

It is strongly recommended that drivers in the vicinity look for alternative routes in order to minimize delays.
