Belle Plaine could have won the last game against Lyons, but they didn’t. They should have done a better job of stopping Xander Young.
Some of Lyons’ 42–13 win over Belle Plaine on Friday came from Young’s running, which gained 8.7 yards per carry and gave him 200 yards and three scores. He set a new career high in rushing yards with that dominating game.
Lyons was unstoppable on the ground and ended the game with 264 rushing yards. Young was just one part of a tough run game. That is the most yards they have gained on the ground all season.
The quarterback got picked off four times before the game was over because Lyons was not easy on him. The whole team did a great job; Jace Thompson, Levi Timberlake, Hendrix Starbuck, and Ethan Luck all got one.
You should not look at Talan Hefley to figure out why Belle Plaine lost. No matter what happened, he ran for 83 yards and a score in just ten carries.
This was Lyons’ first win in three games at home, and it brought their record to 2-7. This was Belle Plaine’s tenth straight loss on the road since the beginning of the season. They now have a 0-9 record.
At this point, neither Lyons nor Belle Plaine have any games planned.
