Wellington’s win over Kapaun Mt. Carmel on Thursday made their playoff run even longer. The Kapaun Mt. Carmel Crusaders barely lost, but they came out on top with a 20-19 score. Wellington has now won eight games in a row, so this win was not anything new for them.
Dusty Bannister had another great game. He threw for 251 yards and three scores. He has thrown three or more scores in each of the last five games he is played, which is a good streak. Skyler Branam caught 100 yards from Bannister’s pass and scored a touchdown a few plays later.
Their record now stands at 8-2, and this was their fifth straight win at home. A lot of those good results came from how well they played offensively during that time. They scored 45.4 points per game. Kapaun Mt. Carmel’s record dropped to 7-3 after their loss.
On Friday at 7:00 p.m., Wellington will play Andover Central. With six straight wins, Andover Central will be coming in, and Wellington will not give up without a fight. Kapaun Mt. Carmel does not have any more games planned right now.
