THE STATE OF TEXAS (Home Page for Concho Valley) Angelo State began the 2024 regular season with a 1-1 record. They played their first home game of the season on Tuesday night against Arlington Baptist and easily won 101–58.

The Rams scored 55 points in the first half, which was almost as many as the Patriots scored in the whole game. In both halves, the Rams make an average of 50% from the field and the 3-point line.

They also steal the ball 12 times on defense. Sterling Gaston Chapman had a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds. He was the game’s most valuable player and the second-highest scorer with 22 points, behind Carvell Teasett.

Yesterday, Rams head coach Vinay Patel said that this team was a team and would need to work together in a certain way to be successful this year. On Tuesday, he saw the boys act like a team for the first time.

This weekend, both the men’s and women’s basketball teams from Angelo State are going on the road to play UTPB. The games start at 1 p.m. for the women and 3 p.m. for the men.
