During the month of December, the Victorian Festival of Christmas turns Historic Downtown Hannibal into a winter wonderland every weekend.
There is no better place to rediscover the magic of the holiday season than in Historic Downtown Hannibal. There is a Victorian Festival of Christmas going on right now, and Main Street is decorated in a way that will make you miss the good old days.
This Victorian Festival takes place every weekend in December starting at the end of November and going through the end of the year.
The sound of carolers, horse-drawn carriages, and lights shining on beautifully decorated storefronts will get you in the holiday mood. The happy old elf comes by to hear about people’s Christmas wish lists. There are two Christmas parades, a gingerbread village, and the Festival of Trees.
As part of Living Windows, the shops are brought to life with Christmas scenes. A marshmallow roast and hot chocolate will be served to the guests.
When the holidays come around, the Mark Twain Boyhood Home is decorated in a Victorian style with many trees and old items on them. The museum also has a Clemens Family Christmas that you can enjoy.
Businesses in downtown will be open late so you can shop for unique gifts to put under the tree.
