An ‘A’ safety grade was earned by Advent Health Apopka from an independent national nonprofit watchdog

All of Advent Health’s hospitals in Central Florida have been awarded a Hospital Safety Grade of “A” by The Leapfrog Group, which is an independent national nonprofit organization that focuses on patient safety.

On the basis of more than thirty performance measures that reflect errors, accidents, injuries, and infections, as well as the mechanisms that hospitals have in place to prevent them, Leapfrog provides a grade of “A,” “B,” “C,” “D,” or “F” to general hospitals across the country.

The following Advent Health locations received grades of “A”: Advent Health Altamonte Springs, Advent Health Apopka, Advent Health Celebration, Advent Health East Orlando, Advent Health Kissimmee, Advent Health Orlando, Advent Health Winter Garden, and Advent Health Winter Park.

“At Advent Health, the safety of our patients is the most important aspect of our goal. Brian Adams, president and chief executive officer of Advent Health’s Central Florida Division, expressed his pride in the fact that the dedication to quality is ingrained in each and every one of the Advent Health institutions located in Central Florida.

The fact that our team members have been acknowledged by The Leapfrog Group once again is a testament to their dedication and expertise in providing care that encompasses the entire person.

“Achieving a ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade is a significant accomplishment for Advent Health,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “This is a significant accomplishment for Advent Health.”

Your entire community ought to be proud of you since it demonstrates a tremendous amount of passion to your patients and the families of those patients.

I would like to offer my congratulations to the Central Florida Division of Advent Health, as well as to its leadership, physicians, staff, and volunteers, for their unceasing efforts to prioritize the wellness of their patients.

As the only hospital ratings program that focuses only on preventable medical errors, infections, and injuries that result in the death of more than 500 patients every single day in the United States, the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade represents a significant achievement.

Peer review is performed on this program, and it is completely open to the public and free to use. There are two times a year, in the fall and the spring, when grades are changed.
