FCCLA groups from all over the state recently gathered at OKC Riversport for the annual Riversport Day, a day of exciting fun and friendship.
The event gives people a chance to get to know each other outside of school and enjoy the beauty of downtown Oklahoma City while whitewater rafting, surfing, and other water sports.
For many of our FCCLA groups, Riversport Day is a big event. Emily Faulkenberry, a senior at MHS and FCCLA State Vice President of Competitive Events, said this.
“It’s a great chance for students to get to know each other in a fun and casual setting while also checking out OKC Riversport’s world-class facilities.”
In addition to river rafting and surfing, the day gave students the chance to check out the lively downtown OKC area.
Representative Aycee Dudley of the MHS said, “This event is more than just a day of fun.”
“It helps people learn how to work together, talk to each other, and be leaders, which are all important skills for future success.”
