Texarkana, USA– There’s just now starting to be a slight chill in the air, decorations are appearing everywhere and every year on the first Monday of December something magical happens in Texarkana. It’s a special first Monday in December that Santa Clause sets aside a few hours to visit Texarkana before his nighttime run later in the month.
Santa Clause will sneak into Texarkana – likely landing out at the Texarkana Airport – make his way secretly downtown and take up his honored position at the end of the parade line. On December 4, at 7:00 p.m. the parade will kick off with local high school bands, drill teams, cheer leaders, scout groups, and floats. Children, young and old, will watch the parade from the sidelines and if they are lucky, they will get a glimpse of the man in the red suit at the end of the parade waving to all the children!
Parade information can be found on Main Street Texarkana’s Website and then theme this year is “Gingerbread Village.” There will be plenty of vendors on hand, music, and fun for the entire family. Also, if you have not already noticed many of the downtown businesses have decorated windows for the season. It’s a great time to go downtown and see window decorations anytime during the season.
Remember, you don’t want to miss the 33rd Annual Main Street Christmas Parade in downtown Texarkana. It all starts at 7:00 p.m. on the 4th – so come on out and join the fun!
