Texarkana, USA– Dust off your poems, dust off your short stories, dust off your fiction and non-fiction because there’s a writer’s group in Texarkana again. There have been several groups in Texarkana over the years where writers have been able to meet, share their work, obtain feedback and give feedback. Some have attended these groups and have never put anything up to be read, while others have work to share weekly. Whatever your desire is, if you’re a writer, there’s a place for you with Writers of Texarkana, USA once again.
The group has a Facebook Page and a small Facebook Group, but they have not met formally. This week, that all changes. After being online for about a year, the group will have the first formal meeting to bring a writing group back to Texarkana Thursday night.
Thursday at 6:00 p.m. the group will meet at the Red Letter Church located at 915 E. 3rd in Texarkana, Arkansas. Clinton Thomas, owner of the Four States News will host the group meeting. The group is open to any area writers wishing to meet, discuss writing, and seek opportunities for publication and sharing. If you would rather not share your work and you just want to attend, that’s cool too – everyone is welcome.
Those interested should like the Facebook Page and click on “Going” on the invite found at that site. We are still trying to get a good head count for the first meeting. For more information please call 832-652-8012 and leave a message if you reach the answering service. Remember, everyone is welcome!
