Selph and Friday, CPA – 31 Years of Friendly, Helpful, and Honest Service

After years of doing my own tax returns and feeling confident that I understand the tax system – as much as any average American can – it finally happened.  That’s right, the day arrived when I ran into tax issues beyond my understanding.  I decided it was time to get professional help.  I am not talking about getting help from one of these quick services you find at a store during tax season.  I also was not willing to go to one of these places that sets up in an office that is vacant most of the year.  No, I decided I needed “Real” and “Professional” help.

Like any other confused, taxed person, I did an Internet search and started reading what I could find.  One of the first CPA’s that showed up was Selph and Friday, CPA.  I noticed they seemed to have the Google market without a single review.  I made a few phone calls and was informed that the organization was reputable, reasonable, and always helpful.   I then made a few searches for Selph and Friday and found no major issues with their business.  Although they had no major reviews, they also had no negative comments.  You have to remember, people are quick to say something negative, but not always as quick to say the positive.

With the information I had in hand, I made the call.  Within a few minutes I had spoken with Joe and had an appointment set up with him.  I arrived the next day and presented all the information I could to resolve my tax issues.  Joe spent time reading through it, ask me specific questions, and then offered several options to help with the problem.

After we spent a little time getting to a solution, we talked a little about various other topics.  I found that Joe’s reputation, after being in business for 31 years, is well earned.  I had been told he was an honest, Christian man who would be fair and up front about all options.  As far as I could tell, you might say that my “intel” was 100% correct about Joe.

While I did not meet Selph during my visit, I was completely impressed with Joe.  I can tell that as my business grows, Selph and Friday will become a cornerstone for our future tax needs.  I would highly recommend to anyone needing a CPA that they should take time to give Selph and Friday, CPA a chance.  Who knows, they just might impress you like they did me.   In a few days I expect to return, find the solution I decided on completed, and walk away as a happy customer…..well, at least as happy as anyone can be during tax season.

  1. I had an ongoing problem with The Arkansas State tax Collector since 2012 for my 2007 State Tax Return. Its a long story about what happened but I contacted three other Arkansas accountants. I always got we need more information. The IRS could not provide the information as the do not go back to 2007. It came abut I needed the issue resolved I called and phone interviewed several CPAS in Texarkana. After speaking with Robby Selph I felt most comfortable he COULD and Would resolve the issue. I drove 320 miles to meet with him. Arriving at his office two hours early he immediately reviewed my problem, called an upper echelon Arkansas Tax employee and in about 15 minutes resolved an 9 year old issue, others had tried to solve. His office staff finished the needed information and prepared it to mail to the Arkansas Tax Commission before I left the office, The whole process took less than 30 minutes, saving me over $10,000.00 for a minimal cost. I highly recommend Selph and Friday. Please feel free to contact me with any question about this firm
