Genoa, AR– The Genoa Music Department played their Christmas Concert this evening to a packed house at the Genoa Gym.  All band levels, including the fifth grade recorders, performed various Christmas songs from Jingle Bells to new modern songs like the Polar Express.

The band boosters were on hand with snacks for performers and guest and Band Director Mr. Dupas conducted the band and made introductions.

The Fifth Grade Recorders opened the event with Ode to Joy, O Come Little Children and Jingle Bells.  Beginning Band then performed Jolly Old St. Nicholas and Jingle Bells.  There was one “Combined Band” song before the Advanced Band played several favorites including the new classic Polar Express.

There was a flute duet and a final combined band song of We Wish You a Merry Christmas.  Mr. Dupas introduced the last song by noting this would be his last Christmas Band Concert to conduct.  In the opinion of this publication, Dupas will be missed by the students and the community as he goes into retirement after this year.
