Lonnie Gray “L.G.” Kelley, Jr., age 93 of New Boston, Texas passed away Friday, July 3, 2015 at his residence. Mr. Kelley was born January 23, 1922 in Nash, Texas. He was retired from Red River Army Depot, a United States Army Air Corps and World War II Veteran, member of the First Baptist Church, New Boston, lifetime member of the NRA and is preceded in death by his wife, Bettie Kelley and a son L.G. Scooter Kelley III.
Survivors include one daughter and son in law, Sherry and E.J. Chiartano of Texarkana, Texas, three granddaughters and grandsons in law, Melissa and Twister Ballard of Wake Village, Texas, Jill Chiartano and fiancée Jake Sawyer of Texarkana, Texas and Corey Cook, two grandsons and one granddaughter in law, Eric and Jessica Kelley of Athens, Alabama, and O.J. Cook, one daughter in law, Diane Kelley of New Boston, Texas, five great grandchildren, Blake Starrett of Hooks, Texas, Tristan Ballard of Wake Village, Texas, Skylar Kelley and Elijah Kelley of Athens, Alabama, Ollie Cook and a number of other relatives and friends.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, July 6, 2015 in Ringwood Cemetery with Dr. Ken Cox officiating. Interment is under the direction of Bates Rolf Funeral Home, New Boston, Texas with Military Honors. There is no set visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Texarkana or Ringwood Cemetery Association.
