Presidential Disaster Declaration Granted For Some TX Counties

FEMAEarlier today (Friday), Governor Greg Abbott requested a Presidential Disaster Declaration for Texas counties due to damage sustained from the severe weather, tornadoes and flooding. This evening, President Obama granted the request for funds to aid Texas counties as they begin to recover and rebuild.

“I thank the President and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for their prompt response to Texas’ urgent need for a federal disaster declaration,” said Texas Division of Emergency Management Chief Nim Kidd. “We have seen so many lives lost, homes damaged or destroyed, and communities threatened by this devastating storm system. Texas is grateful for the swift response by FEMA and I look forward to working with my FEMA partners to ensure critical assistance is delivered to Texans in need.”

Governor Abbott requested Individual Assistance for Harris (Houston), Hays (San Marcos) and Van Zandt (Canton) counties. Individual Assistance provides affected residents and businesses access to Disaster Housing, Disaster Grants, Low-Interest Disaster Loans, and other disaster aid programs including crisis counseling, disaster-related unemployment assistance, legal aid and assistance with income tax, Social Security and Veteran’s benefits.

Governor Abbott requested Public Assistance for Cooke (Gainesville), Gaines (Seminole), Grimes (Navasota), Harris, Hays, Navarro (Corsicana) and Van Zandt counties. Public Assistance is aid to state or local governments to pay part of the costs of rebuilding a community’s damaged infrastructure, which may include debris removal, emergency protective measures and public services, repair of damaged public property, loans needed by communities for essential government functions and grants for public schools. Generally, public assistance programs pay for 75 percent of the approved project costs.

Additional counties may be added to Governor Abbott’s request once they meet the threshold required by the federal government to request federal disaster aid.

  1. I’m glad the affected areas are getting some help, but I have to point out, AGAIN, that Obama is not the President. The reason is quite simple, as outlined below.

On October 15, 1872, Virginia Minor applied to register to vote under the auspices of the then, newly passed, 14th Amendment. The registrar of voters in her county, Reese Happersett, refused her application and she sued. In 1875 it wound up in the US Supreme Court as Minor v. Happersett, 88 US 162.

The Court had to identify who was and wasn’t qualified to vote, which meant discussing the various types of citizens. Starting in paragraph eight (8) of their decision they addressed the Natural Born Citizen clause in Article II of the Constitution. In paragraph nine (9) they defined a Natural Born Citizen as any person born in the United States of two parents who are both citizens. Here is the relevant passage from paragraph 9:

The Constitution does not, in words, say who shall be natural-born citizens. Resort must be had elsewhere to ascertain that. At common-law, with the nomenclature of which the framers of the Constitution were familiar, it was never doubted that all children born in a country of parents who were its citizens became themselves, upon their birth, citizens also. These were the natives, or natural-born citizens, as distinguished from aliens or foreigners.

By this definition, Obama – whose father was never a US citizen – is not a Natural Born Citizen and therefore does not meet the eligibility requirements for President listed in Article II of the Constitution, regardless of what his birth certificate says or doesn’t say. It’s completely irrelevant. Under Minor v. Happersett, which is settled law, he is a usurper. That means every “official” act he has taken since usurping Office is legally null and void; including any bills he “signed into law”, all of his judicial appointments as well as all regulations passed by various Executive Branch agencies under the “extension of Presidential authority”, of which he has none.

He is a usurper. Arrest him.
