Press Release: Congressman-elect John Ratcliffe has added Robbin Crooks Bass to his district team in the key role of Regional Representative for the counties in the eastern portion of the 4th Congressional District. Robbin’s role will be outreach-focused as she engages with constituents, community and civic organizations, and local governments to ensure they are well-represented by their Congressman at the local level.
Robbin brings substantial credentials and experience in the region, including her most recent service with the Ark-Tex Council of Governments since 2011. “I am so honored to have been chosen to be the Regional Representative for Congressman-elect John Ratcliffe here in Texarkana and the surrounding area,” Robbin said. “This new year holds so much promise for our nation and for the people of the 4th Congressional District. I believe in Congressman-elect Ratcliffe’s vision and am so glad to be a part of that endeavor. I plan to hit the ground running and will be available to support our constituents on my first day in the position.”
Congressman-elect Ratcliffe also expressed his excitement about this important hiring, stating that “not only is Robbin extremely talented and experienced in vital constituent service areas, particularly those involving veterans and senior citizens, Robbin and her family are deeply engaged with and invested in the greater Texarkana community.” Ratcliffe added, “I am elated that Robbin has accepted our offer to join our district team, and that she will be on board from day-one to help us serve the 4th Congressional District.”
Jason Ross, Ratcliffe’s District Director, announced that Robbin will join the Ratcliffe team on January 6, at which time Ratcliffe will open a regional office at Texarkana College. “We are very appreciative of the opportunity to open our Texarkana area office and grateful to Texarkana College and President James Henry Russell for allowing us to utilize available office space. With respect to Robbin in particular, Ross added, “the moment I met Robbin I instantly knew she was a perfect representative for Congressman-elect Ratcliffe and our team in this important part of the 4th Congressional District. She has such a passion for the greater Texarkana area. I was most impressed with her desire to be a servant leader for the region with an attitude of humility and compassion.”
Prior to joining Ratcliffe’s team, Robbin Crooks Bass served as the Human Resources Coordinator with the Ark-Tex COG and as Lead Benefits Counselor with the Area Agency on Aging. Her community involvement also includes service on the Board of Directors for the Junior League of Texarkana. Robbin is a proud Army wife and married to Lt. Colonel Jamie Bass, who retired after 27 years of service in 2011 and served as the Commander of Defense Logistics Agency-Red River. During their many stations throughout Jamie’s Army career, Robbin eagerly served the local community and helped build support networks for military spouses. Robbin is an honors graduate of Northeast Louisiana University (University of Louisiana at Monroe) with undergraduate and graduate degrees in Psychology and Communications, respectively.
Congressman-elect Ratcliffe will be sworn in as a member of the 114th United States Congress on January 6, 2015. He plans to open district offices in early January in Rockwall, Sherman and Texarkana.
