This week, the date you were born will be the most important thing you need to get a Social Security payment. You will get paid again soon if you are eligible for retirement benefits but have not yet received your payment for November.
It is very possible that you will be able to get paid on November 27, which is the last bank holiday this month.
If your birthday is between January 21 and December 31, you will get a Social Security check or direct payment on January 27. It does not matter what month you were born in. You will not get paid if you get SSI or got payments before May 1997.
How much will Social Security recipients get on Nov. 27?
Each person who gets Social Security gets a different amount. That is because not every retired worker had the same job experience. So, the amount of your payment is based on
- the age at which you file
- when you worked and made money
- what jobs you had and whether or not they were covered by SSA
- how many years you worked
You can find out the usual amount, though. In October 2024, it was about $1,924. If they filed at age 62, some seniors can get up to $2,710.
Boomers who filed their taxes when they were 66 years old can get up to $3,822. The biggest payment you will get when you turn 70 will be up to $4,873 in 2024.
Social Security payments after Nov. 27
If you received a check or deposit before November 27, you will not be eligible for a retirement benefit payment. Here are the possible next paydays for seniors.
In fact, Social Security’s payment plan shows that the next payment will be made on December 3, after November 27. You must have been getting benefits since before May 1997 or be on SSI in order to get it.
Remember that your December SSI payment will be sent to you on November 29, 2024. For speed, it will be sent early since SSA offices will be closed on December 1, 2024. Other qualified retirees will get paid on December 11, 18, and 24.
